The five stages
thoughts
When your ex crosses your mind today, what usually happens next?
How this works
This is a reading, not a diagnosis. It asks about observable things — how you're sleeping, whether you're still checking their profile, whether you can picture next year — the same way a friend would ask. It does not screen for any clinical condition, and it does not claim to.
The scoring is simple and deterministic: eighteen questions, each answer points toward one or two stages, and the stage with the highest total places you. Ties are surfaced honestly. Nothing you answer is transmitted, and no answer ever enters a URL.
Questions, answered
- What is this reading?
- It is an eighteen-question reading about what the last few weeks have actually looked like — how you're sleeping, whether you're still checking their profile, whether you can picture next year. It places you on a five-stage recovery arc. It is not a diagnosis, and it does not screen for any clinical condition.
- How does the reading work?
- Eighteen questions, each answer pointing toward one or two stages. The stage with the highest total places you. Scoring is deterministic and happens entirely in your browser — no answer is ever transmitted, stored, or sent to a third party.
- What happens if two stages tie?
- Ties within two points are surfaced honestly, never silently resolved. If two stages score close, both are named at equal weight. The boundaries between stages are soft, so this is common and useful information, not an error.
- Is this therapy or a diagnosis?
- No. This is a self-help companion, not a mental-health service. It is not therapy, not counselling, not crisis intervention, and not a diagnosis tool. It does not screen for depression, anxiety, or any clinical condition.
- Does the site know me or store my answers?
- No. Nothing you answer is ever transmitted. The reading happens in your browser, and your answers never leave your device. If you open an offer, your answers are held in that tab's session storage for the trip out and back, and your browser deletes them when you close the tab.
